Statistics and Writing Goals

Skribane tracks your writing activity to help you maintain a consistent pace and reach your goals.

Accessing Statistics

You have two ways to view your statistics:

  • Right panel (Statistics tab) — Compact summary always visible while writing.
  • Statistics mode — Full view with chart and goal configuration (Ctrl+3).

Writing Goals

You can configure the following goals from Statistics mode:

  • Total goal — The word count you want your novel to reach (e.g., 80,000).
  • Daily goal — Words per day to maintain your pace (e.g., 500).
  • Weekly goal — Words per week.
  • Monthly goal — Words per month.

Goals are saved per project: each novel can have its own objectives.

Right Panel — Quick Summary

The Statistics tab in the right panel shows:

  • Daily goal — Progress bar with today's completion percentage.
  • Streak — Consecutive days you've written. Resets if a day passes without writing.
  • Activity — Words written this week, this month, and daily average.
  • Total progress — Progress bar toward your total goal, with an estimated completion date based on your current pace.

Statistics Mode — Full View

Statistics mode (Ctrl+3) offers:

  • 3 summary cards — Words today, current streak, and best streak.
  • 30-day chart — Bars showing words written each day over the past month. Days where you met the daily goal are shown in a different color.
  • Configure goals — Inputs to change the daily goal and total goal.
  • Projection — Estimate of how many days remain to finish the novel and estimated date.

Automatic Tracking

Skribane automatically records every word you write (or delete) while editing. No special action needed: simply write and statistics update in real time.

Tracking also counts AI-generated words that you accept, because they become part of your manuscript.
