Options
Skribane's options let you customize the interface language and your novel's narrative settings.
Accessing
Click Options at the bottom of the left sidebar (above Config).
Interface Language
Skribane is available in Spanish and English. Click ES or EN to change the language. The change is instant and remembered between sessions.
INFO
The AI generates text in the same language you write your novel in, regardless of the interface language.
Narrative Settings
POV (Point of View)
Configure your novel's narrative point of view:
- Unspecified — The AI receives no POV instructions.
- First person — "I walked toward the door..."
- Second person — "You walked toward the door..."
- Third person limited — "She walked toward the door, thinking about..."
- Third person omniscient — "She walked toward the door. In the next room, he was planning his escape."
If you choose first person or third person limited, you can select the narrator character from a dropdown with characters from your Codex.
POV per Scene
The POV configured in Options is the novel's default value. But you can override it for specific scenes if your novel has multiple narrators. Per-scene configuration is done from the character selector in the editor header.
Tense
Choose your novel's predominant verb tense:
- Past — "She walked toward the door..." (the most common in narrative).
- Present — "She walks toward the door..."
The AI respects this setting when generating and continuing text.
Characters per Scene
From the editor header you can assign Codex characters to each scene. These characters are always included in the AI context when you work on that scene, regardless of whether their names appear in the text.
Exclude Scenes from AI
You can mark individual scenes so the AI ignores them when building context. Useful for discarded drafts, internal reference material, or content you don't want influencing generation.
